NerPerf consists of two programms:
  • netperf, a command line tool to generate network traffic to a host
  • netserver, the daemon that listens for netperf traffic and responds


  • apt-get install netperf exists for Feisty and earlyer stable debians.



  • -H specifies the dest-host

max Packet Throughput

  netperf -i 5 -H hostname
sends a TCP Streams to hostname, repeates 5 times.
