Triple-Boot Windows / Linux / Mac OS X on an Intel Mac

  • Install Mac OS X (1.5 Leopard) on full Disk
  • Boot from System Disk
    • Run DiskUtility
    • shrink system partition
    • create two more partitions, one 32G FAT32 "BOOTCAMP" at the end and one with different size in between
  • reboot w. Option key held
  • eject Mac OS Install Disk, insert and choose Windows XP SP2 install disk
    • make sure you chose and format the 32G FAT32 partition fo installation
    • insert the correct Mac OS X Install Disk for your system to install drivers (reboot at the end)
    • update drivers to BootCamp 2.1 (after double-clicking the EXE the computer seems inactive for quite a while, but isn't)
  • boot & install Linux all in the one remainig partition without swap (had no problems with Ubuntu)
