Contributing to the Holodeck Wiki

First of all: To edit this wiki you need to create an account and be part of the NumRel Group.

Every user of the Holodeck wiki is very welcome to contribute to it. You can edit articles and change their content at any point. Don’t worry, you can’t break anything, as the wiki stores a history of the page changes. Therefore the page can be reverted at any point.

To get started and comfortable with the environment Foswiki (the wiki-software this wiki uses) provides, read through this and/or this article.

However there are a few things to keep in mind. To keep articles consistent, please make sure that the WikiWord (the internal name of the Page) always starts with “Holo” and is descriptive of what the page is about. Best practice is to use CamelCase for your names.

Example:

You write an article about the performance of Holodeck based on different benchmarks. A good WikiWord might be “HoloPerformanceBenchmarks”. “BenchMarks” would work, but wouldn’t be a good choice, as it is A not too descriptive and B might not be unique to Holodeck.

Furthermore, if you created a new wiki page, please add it to the list of wiki pages. The list is ordered alphabetically by the link text (not by the WikiWord).

(When editing pages with a verbatim environment in the WYSIWYG-editor, spaces will be turned into some unknown character. To fix this edit the wiki-text of the page and delete those characters.)
